Move-In Day Freshmen Tips

When moving into your first college dorm it is important to remember not to bring to much stuff. One problem I had was that I brought things that I wouldn't use. Here's a list of what you need and what you won't.

NEED
1. Fan
2. Winter Clothes (It Won't Be Summer Forever)
3. Towels/Soap
4. Iron
5. Alarm Clock
6. Bedding
7. Silverware/Plates/Bowls
8. Food/ Midnight Snack
9. Computer
10. Micro-fridge
11. Dress Clothes (in case of a presentation)
12. Umbrella (it will rain)
WON'T NEED
1. Musical instruments (unless it's your major)
2. Huge TV
3. Microwave. (most likely provided)
4. Random Things (ike receipt or piece of a bracelet)
5. 20 Pairs of shoes (My Main Problem)

Whenever your packing ask yourself will you really need this item. Most items we bring just because. In fact, I only used my Video Game system 3 times while I was at college. And I only wore 5 Pairs of the 20 Pairs of shoes I brought. If you do bring things you won't need move-out will be more stressful than move-in... TRUST ME. : )

When I First Got To College

When I first got to college, it seemed like I was in an entirely new world, all on my own. I moved six hours away from home. I didn't have any friends or family in town. The only thing I had was money and a mountain bike. The first week of college I spent buying books and learning my way around town. I went to the gym to play basketball and met new people. There I met a girl who came to the gym just as much as I did and she also played basketball. Through her I met 7 extraordinary people and began to experience the real college life.

This group of people may have changed my life forever. They showed me things that my parents couldn't and they encouraged me to do things I believed I couldn't. I want to tell you about everything we went through on our journey through freshmen year. However, that would take a lot more time than I have right now. So, I will write on this blog and tell you about most of the things we witnessed and give advice on how to deal with these problems. From failing classes to long distance relationships. We seen almost everything. This is us!
